These load cells are designed to be attached to structures to
measure the strain imposed by loading. The most common use of the
Bolt-on load cell in to weigh the contents of large silos and hoppers
containing aggregate, cement, sugar, coal and animal feed products.
For accurate and repeatable results it is necessary to achieve
a minimum loading of 2500 lbs per square inch (lb/in²) of
supporting leg cross sectional area.
To check whether bolt-on
sensors are suitable for your vessel we have created the calculator
below. Simply
enter the following 3 variables:
The maximum amount of material that the vessel holds (in lbs)
The cross sectional area of one supporting leg (in in²)
The number of legs supporting the vessel
Maximum Material Weight (lbs)
Cross-Sectional Area Of 1 Leg (in²)
Number Of Legs
Resultant Strain (lbs/in²)
If the result of this
calculation is 2500
lb/in² or
greater then a bolt-on system is feasible in your application.
Note: Due to the availability of on-site support our bolt-on load cells are only available for sale if the installation site is within the UK.
We have considerable experience in the specification
and installation of bolt-on systems and would be pleased to discuss
your application and advise on its suitability for this technology. Please
call us on 0118 981 7339, email is via info@appmeas.co.uk,
or use our contact us page.
To support the bolt-on load cells we offer a comprehensive range
of analogue and digital instrumentation to provide a complete weighing
system.
